Second leg fightbacks have been something of a speciality at Mestalla this season, and another one is required in the UEFA Europa League semifinal against Arsenal next Thursday.
Focus will turn to the tie in earnest after Sunday's LaLiga game against SD Huesca, but Valencia CF captain Dani Parejo took to social media after the 3-1 defeat to provide an early motivational speech and a promise to the fans.
“We didn't give up on the season in January, and we aren't going to give up on the tie today. There are 90 minutes remaining at Mestalla and we will give our all to reach the final. We trust you will be with us. AMUNT!" read his message, referencing a similar rallying cry from the turn of the year, en route to VCF moving closer to the Champions League spots.
The most memorable knockout game comeback this season was against Getafe in the Copa del Rey, with Parejo part of the side that stunned the opposition with a late turnaround following a 1-0 first leg loss.
